It is one of the oldest existing trophies in the professional sports franchise in North America. It is one of the major sports trophies that is not recreated yearly.

Hockey Hall of Famer Henri Richard has won the most Stanley Cups with 11 wins. He played with the Montreal Canadiens.

He won the cups in 1955-56,1956-57, 1957-58, 1958-59,1959-60,1964-65, 1965-66, 1967-68, 1968-69, 1970-71 and 1972-73.

Richard was the captain of Montreal from 1971 till his retirement in 1975. He played 1256 games and made 58 goals and 688 assists.

Jean Beliveau and Yvan Cournoyer are also the on list with 10 wins, both with the Montreal.
