Among them, Erik Karlsson has scored the most points this season. He has 101 points followed by Logan with 67 points.

Karlsson is the first blueliner to reach that milestone in a season since Hall of Famer Brian Leetch in 1991-92. He is two-time winner of the James Norris Memorial Trophy.

Nico Sturm, Steven Lorentz, Matt Benning, Luke Kunin, Markus Nutivaara, and Oskar Lindblom are the newest members of the season. They were all acquired by newly hired GM Mike.

San Jose Sharks Goalie are James Reimer and Kaapo Kahkonen. Kaapo was traded by the Minnesota Wild for defenseman Jake Middleton in March 2022.

James recently came in highlights for wearing a pregame warmup jersey in support of the LGBTQIA+ community in January. He will be a free agent after the 2022-23 season.

Logan Couture

Logan got the position of team captain before the 2019–20 season. The 34-year-old was announced the tenth captain of the team.

The player started his career in minor hockey with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association team, the Lucan Irish. He was named to the OHL All-Star Game in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

He played three years with the London Junior Knights of the Minor Hockey Alliance League. During that time, he played with Los Angeles Kings defenceman Drew Doughty.

The Centre player was drafted ninth overall by the Sharks in 2007. He made his NHL debut in the 2009-10 season in a match against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Couture has been locked up with an eight-year extension worth $64 million with the Sharks since 1 July 2018. He was previously in a 5-year contract worth $30 million.

Couture was named to All-Rookie Team in 2010-11 and 2009-10 and NHL All-Star Game in 2011-12. He led the points to the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Alternate Captains

Mario was announced as the alternate team captain of the Sharks in September 2019. Ferraro was named to All-Rookie Team in 2017 and First All-Star Team in 2016 -17.

He was a second-round draft pick with 49th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the Sharks. Before that, he played with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League.

Tomas Hertl was selected 17th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Sharks. He was named to the position in September 2019.

He is the second player in franchise history to have two hat-tricks in a single calendar month. He made goals on 15 January 2019 vs. Pittsburgh and 22 January 2019 against the Washington Capitals.

Erik Karlsson was selected 15th overall by the Senators in the 2008 NHL Draft. The team traded him to the Sharks for a package of young players 2018.

Karlsson has a full no-movement clause; he can reject any trade. He signed an eight-year contract worth $92 million in 2019. He now has a base salary of $10,500,000.

San Jose Sharks Coach and General Manager

San Jose Sharks coach David Quinn. San Jose Sharks general manager has been Mike Grier since 5 July 2022 after replacing Jack Parker.

David Quinn

David was assigned the position of tenth head coach of NHL Franhise on 26 July 2022. He started his coaching career in 1994 at Northeastern University.

He was a first-round draft pick by the Minnesota North Stars in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. His playing career started in 1991 and ended in 1993 with Binghamton Rangers and Cleveland Lumberjacks.

The Rhode Island native has also coached in AHL; he served for the Lake Erie Monsters. He has coached the 2022 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team.

He also served as an assistant coach for Team USA at the IIHF Men's World Championship in 2016, 2007 and 2012.

David is married to Kerry O'Brien, whom he dated while studying at BU. He has a happy family with three adult step-children.

Mike Grier

Mike has been in the position since July 2022 as the first-ever African-American Gm in NHL history.

Grier replaced Bob Boughner after three losing seasons. He now works as an associate coach for the Detroit Red Wings.

The former player has played 1060 games in his 15 years of playing career through 14 seasons. He has played with the Washington Capitals, Edmonton Oilers,  Buffalo Sabres, and Sharks.

The Detroit native was a ninth-round pick of the St. Louis Blues in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After retiring in 2011, he served as a scout with the Chicago Blackhawks.

He also coached hockey at Saint Sebastian's School. He worked with the New Jersey Devils as an assistant coach and the New York Rangers as a hockey operations advisor.

Mike and his wife Anne Sargent Grier have three kids, Jayden, Brooklyn, and Tristan. The couple met while studying at Boston University.
