Fantasy Hockey Sleepers and Breakouts for 2023-24

2023 version of fantasy has a lot of players to keep an eye on especially later rounds pick vying for a breakout year.

Fantasy Hockey Sleepers and Breakouts are 1. Logan Cooley 2. Sean Durzi 3. Connor Brown 4. Frederik Anderson 5. Jonathan Huberdeau.

Sleepers in fantasy sports are the players who are expected to exceed their Average Draft Position. ADP is the average round and draft pick number in which a player is drafted in the fantasy.

The sleepers are usually found in the later rounds of the pick. They comprise young athletes with a lot of potential and experienced ones with favorable situations in their careers.

The team that is assumed to be the sleeper in fantasy hockey for 2023-24 are Arizona Coyotes. The players of the team pushed the team to 7th place in the Central Division.

With Clayton Keller, Jason Zucker, and Matt Dumba on the roster, they are set to excel. Thus, Coyotes are fun to watch in the upcoming season.

Logan Cooley - Center

NHL fantasy draft sleepers include Coyote's newest addition, Logan Cooley. He is a center player with an incredible NCAA record in 2022-23.

Cooley was selected for the U.S. National Team Development Program (USNTDP) in the 2020-21 season. He played 27 games with the team recording 28 points that year.

The following season, Logan acquired a career-high 36 points in 24 games. His progression led him to play for the University of Minnesota in the 2022-23 season.

The forward competed in 39 games and acquired 60 points. His exceptional performance in college hockey tournaments has drawn many eyes.

Cooley is assumed to resume his point-scoring journey in the NHL too. The projected points for Logan in his rookie season is 60 points.  

Sean Durzi - Defense

NHL draft sleepers list comprises defenseman Sean Durzi. He competed in 72 games with the Kings recording his NHL career-high of 38 points.

Durzi has shown progress since he debuted in the 2021-22 season. He jumped from playing 64 games to 72 games and securing 27 to 38 points.

The athlete was recently traded to the Coyotes by the Kings. He is paired up with Victor Soderstrom and both of them are great puck movers.  

With 2 years in the NHL, Sean has gained enough confidence in the defensive zone. He still has room to grow and Arizona is best-suited for him to hone his skills.

The progress in Durzi's statistics is the reason why the Coyotes consider him a valuable player. He is projected to achieve 43 points in the upcoming season.

Connor Brown - Right Wing

Brown is ranked among the top NHL fantasy sleepers of 2023. Connor signed an incentive-laden contract with the Edmonton Oilers for 2023-24. 

Brown made his NHL debut in the 2015-16 season. He played seven games and recorded 6 points in the rookie season. The player recorded his career-high of 43 points in 2019-20.

Connor reached the 39-point mark in the 2021-22 season with the Senators. He was then traded to the Capitals and represented them in four games.

Following that, Brown underwent surgery for his ligament injury and missed the entire season. He has had enough rest and healing in the former season.

Connor is ready to make a comeback in the arena alongside his Oilers teammates. He is projected to secure the highest points of his NHL career in the 2023-24 season.

Andre Burakovsky - Left Wing

Fantasy hockey sleepers list includes Kraken winger Andre Burakovsky. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Capitals and the Avalanche.

Buravosky debuted in the NHL with the Capitals in 2014-15. The team traded him to the Avalanche after securing their playoff championship in 2018.

Following that, Andre spent three seasons with Colorado. When his contract expired, he signed a five-year deal with Kraken. He has the best record of 61 points in the 2021-22 season.

The 2022-23 season with Kraken opened multiple doors for the Burakovsky. He appeared in 49 games with the team and recorded 39 points, securing 0.79 points per game. 

With a decent contract situation, Buravosky is focused on his statistics. He is assumed to make new career-highs in goals and records in the 2023-24 season.

Max Domi - Forward

2021 NHL fantasy sleepers include forward player Max Domi. He had a disappointing 2020-21 season with 24 points in 54 games.

Domi possesses extraordinary offensive skills but he has been in a tough spot regarding the contract. He has achieved a career-high of 72 points in the 2018-19 season.

In the past eight seasons, Max played for six different NHL franchises. He switched between Jackets and Hurricanes playing 72 games in the 2021-22 season.

Domi represented the Blackhawks and Stars in the 2022-23 season scoring 56 points in total. He recently signed a one-year contract with the Maple Leafs.

Having less to worry about the contract, Max can fully concentrate on the ice hockey games. Besides, he is lined up with the exceptional forwards John Tavares and William Nylander.

Frederik Andersen - Goaltender

NHL fantasy goalie sleepers comprise 33-year-old goaltender, Frederik Andersen. He recently agreed to a two-year extension deal with the Hurricanes.

Andersen had a save percentage of .923 in his debut NHL season of 2013-14. Likewise, he had the lowest of .895 in 2020-21 with the Maple Leafs.

The following season, Frederik made a comeback and recorded the second-highest SV% of .922. He was determined to set a new record in the 2022-23 season.

However, Andersen suffered injury and illness and missed most of the games. Though he only appeared in 34 games, he was handed the William M. Jennings Trophy.

With the offseason in place, Frederik has enough time to take a rest. Since he is coming from a down year, he will do everything to make the upcoming season count.

Filip Chytil - Center

NHL fantasy hockey rankings have Filip Chytil in the 194th position. He is bound to the Rangers with a salary cap hit of $4,437,500 until 2026-27.

The center player debuted with the NY Rangers in the 2017-18 season. He secured the highest points(45) of his career with the Rangers in 2022-23.

Chytil had a break-out in the former season and his progress is unmatched. With fabulous playmaking and scoring abilities, he is one of the overlooked hockey athletes.

Filip is healthy and prepared for the upcoming hockey season. With enhanced hockey skills, he is in his prime time. Thus, the 2023-24 season is assumed to bring the best out of Chytil.  

Jonathan Huberdeau - Center

2014 NHL fantasy sleepers list includes center athlete Jonathan Huberdeau. His points dropped from 31 to 28 in the 2013-14 hockey season. 

The forward player has been competing in the NHL since 2012-13. He showed exponential growth in the statistics before suffering a lower leg injury in the 2016-17 season.

After months of rest, Huberdeau was back on the ice with a rejuvenated spirit. He received a breakthrough in 2021-22 after he secured a career-high 115 points.

The past season was a little down for Jonathan since he was traded to the Calgary Flames. He needed time to adjust to his new team and linemates.

Huberdeau signed an 8-year deal with the Flames on 4 April 2022. He is currently a top offense for the Flames with not many players to overshadow him.

Andrei Vasilevskiy - Goaltender

NHL fantasy rankings sleepers 2023-24 have Andrei Vasilevskiy in the 22nd position. His save percentage slightly dropped in the last season.

Andrei has the lowest of .910 and highest of .925 SV% in his entire NHL career. His records improved in the 2020-21 season when he played for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Though Vasilevskiy's SV% declined in the 2022-23 season, the Goals Against Average(GAA) increased to 2.65. Likewise, his shutouts increased to 4. 

Andrei has strong and instant reflexes and the ability to handle puckshots smoothly. Thus, he can do much better in his games during the 2023-24 season.
