NHL Center Ice student discount is available during sign-up and clearance sale with Student Beans. The Beans are a student loyalty network.

The NHL itself has not offered any discount schemes on Center Ice for students.

NHL Center Ice can be watched on multiple TV providers like Cox, DIRECTV, Dish Network, RCN, Service Electric, Spectrum, Verizon, and Xfinity.

Many hockey fan students are waiting eagerly for the new season. The 2023-24 NHL regular season is scheduled to start on October 10, 2023.

National Hockey League games can be viewed traditionally on Television. NHL has partnered with different channels to broadcast its matches live.

You can stream the live games online too, but you will have to pay for it, obviously. A reliable internet is also a primary requirement for streaming the games online.

NHL Center Ice Cost and Package

The NHL center ice price is $69.99 per season. It is a sports package available through cable and satellite TV providers out of the market.

The package lets you watch around 40 NHL games per week during the regular season. It lets you enjoy games in your TV provider's interface.

ESPN+ is the streaming channel for the NHL’s out-of-market matchups in the U.S. NHL Center Ice is still a convenient service since it is $30 cheaper than the ESPN+ annual subscription.

NHL has made it difficult to watch all of the games within a single TV plan like other major league sports. That is meant to say, you'll not get to watch every NHL match on NHL Center Ice.

Advantages of NHL Center Ice:

  • All out-of-market NHL games
  • Home and away broadcast feeds (when available)
  • NHL Network included

Disadvantages of NHL Center Ice:

  • Cable or satellite subscription required
  • Local and national coverage dependent on the TV plan

Is NHL Center Ice worth it?

If you're an NHL fan who doesn't want to miss any games and subscribes to a cable or satellite TV service, NHL Center Ice is a good add-on package. But we recommend ESPN+ over NHL Center Ice if streaming TV is an option for you.

ESPN+ is coming with 53 exclusive NHL matchups this season in addition to out-of-market coverage. These games will be streamed only on ESPN+ or Hulu.

Unlike in the past seasons, having a cable or satellite TV plan with your regional sports network, national NHL channels, and NHL Center Ice would still make you miss out on 53 live games unless you go with ESPN+ or Hulu.

If you don't want to miss any live NHL games this season, we recommend you sign up for ESPN+ and skip NHL Ice Center. You will get every game streamed with a single subscription. Please note that you'll still require a separate TV plan for national and local coverage.

However, if you are not a fan of streaming and don't have a reliable internet connection, NHL Center Ice is a reasonable package for you.

NHL Gamecenter Student Discount

Students over the age of 16 and attending high school, college, or university are eligible for NHL TV student discounts. Identification may be required to claim the discount.

Please note that the discount amount may vary between different timelines. Typically, you can see a box titled Student Discount, Promo Code, or other kind of discount offers and you can apply these codes before making payment for the service.
