Mike Bossy joined the other three players much later. He recorded a hat-trick each in three continuous NHL games during the 1980-81 season.

The record for the hat tricks in two consecutive games is held by Alexander Ovechkin, Rick Martin, Filip Forsberg, and Darryl Sittler. Ovechkin scored a hat trick each in the successive games against the Senators and Canadiens in 2017.

Prior to Alexander, the record was made by Filip Forsberg. The same year, Filip secured three-goals each in the games against the Flames and Avalanche.

Fastest 4 goals in NHL playoff history by New York Islanders were recorded in 2023. It was during Game 3 of the first round against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The goals were scored in a span of 2 minutes and 18 seconds. Initially, Casey Cizikas scored on behalf of the Islanders and Jesper Fast secured one for the Hurricanes.
