Minnesota High School Ice Hockey Standings
Edina High School with 13 state titles is one of the most successful programs in the Minnesota high school boys hockey league.
Edina is followed by Hill-Murray with 11 state titles, Duluth East with eight state titles, and Minnetonka, which won its second state title in 2023.
Additionally, a few of the notable players who started out in the league and made headways into the NHL are Phil Housley, Neal Broten, Jamie Langenbrunner, Zach Parise, Nick Leddy, and Brock Boeser.

1. Minnetonka HS
Minnetonka HS is the 2023 Champions of the Minnesota State Class AA Hockey Tournament. They beat Edina HS 2-1 to clinch the trophy.
The Skippers have a record of 29-2-0 in the recently concluded seasons and are also the leaders in the Section 2AA division of the Minnesota High School League.
2. Andover HS
Hailing from the Northwest Suburban division, Andover HS ranked second in the hockey league. The team has a record of 23W-7L-1T.
The reigning 2022 states champions, Andover HS finished third in the 2023 Class AA tournament after beating 5-3 against Cretin-Derham Hall.
3. Chanhassen HS
Chanhassen HS hockey team competes in the Section 2AA Division alongside Minnetonka Skippers and was placed third overall in the 2022-23 Class 2AA league.
They played the season's final games against Minnetonka HS which they won 1-2 in the OT. The team has a record of 24-4-0, scoring 134 goals and conceding 34 goals throughout the season.
4. Wayzata HS
Playing in the Section 6AA division alongside their rivals Edina HS, Wayzata HS was ranked the fourth team with a record of 19-7-2.
Last season the team managed to score 106 goals while it also conceded 46 from the opposition.
5. Edina HS
Ranked 5th in the Minnesota HS - Class AA as well as the Minnesota HS - All Teams, Edina HS was the runner-up in the Class AA Boys Hockey Tournament.
Boasting a record of 22-7-1, the Hornets have previously won 13 state championships with the most recent one in 2019.
6. Benilde St Margerets HS
Nicknamed the Red Knights, Benilde St Margarets plays in the Section 6AA division alongside Wayzata and Edina HS.
Coached by Ken Pauly, the Red Knights had a record of 18-9-0 and scored 137 goals this season. They placed 6th in the Class AA rankings, winning their latest Class AA state Championship in 2012.
7. Maple Grove HS
The Maple Groves Crimson are at the top of the Section 5AA division with a record of 23-7-1.
With Todd Bergland as their head coach, the Crimsons are placed in seventh position in the Class AA State rankings for the 2022-23 season.
8. St Thomas Academy
Leading the Section 3AA division of the Minnesota HS league is St Thomas Academy Cadets with a record of 19-8-0.
The Cadets are the eight times former State Champions, winning the most recent Championship in 2013.
9. Moorhead HS
Moorhead HS is the champion of the Section 8AA division of the 2022-23 Minnesota High School League. They hold a record of 19-11-0.
The Spud Boys also contested in the 2023 State Class AA Tournament but lost 6-7 to the Edina Hornets in the quarterfinals.
10. Cretin Derham Hall HS
Finishing in the 10th spot in the overall Class AA ranking is Cretin Derham Hall HS, also known as "The Raiders". They had a record of 19-11-1 this season.
The Raiders were the State Champions back in 2006 and were close to adding another trophy to their cabinet before getting knocked by the Hornets in the semis.
