Mike Babcock family includes five members. They are:

Michael is a former Canadian ice hockey mentor. He spent eighteen seasons as the head coach for three franchises in the National Hockey League. He recently served as the one for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Order of Hockey in Canada member learned to skate when he was nine. His father made him homemade equipment to practice. In fact, he also played hockey as a defense at the junior level.

Alexandra Babcock

The first child of the former coach, Alexandra Babcock, is a senior health program and education lead at Love Life. She joined the firm in January 2022.

At the same time, Allie works at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System as a lifestyle and culinary medicine coordinator. She joined the Ann Arbor-based medical firm in November 2019.

Before that, she served as a dietetic intern at Brigham and Women's Hospital and at TranS1 as a public health consultant.

Talking about the educational qualifications of the health associate, she completed her bachelor of science from the University of Michigan in 2015.

Later she enrolled at the University of Michigan School of Public Health to acquire a master's degree in nutritional science and dietetics.

Michael Babcock III

Michael Babcock III is the only son of the coach and his better half. He was born on February 1, 1995, in Northville, USA.

The junior followed his father while choosing a professional career. He works as an assistant coach for the men's hockey team at the University of Saskatchewan.

From the same university, Michael completed his master's in business administration in 2022. Prior to that, he enrolled at Merrimack College to pursue a bachelor's degree in the same subject.

Regarding his high school, he studied at Detroit Catholic Central High School from 2009 to 2013.

Michael began his career as an ice skating instructor at KIm Muir Can't Skate, Can't Play. Later, he joined the Leafs as a salary cap intern in June 2018.

Apart from sports engagement, the junior Babcock served roughly for a year at Silicon Expert. He joined as a business development representative and became manager after five months.

Besides, he is a former ice hockey player. Michael played for Les Gothiques starting from June 2019 to April 2020.

Taylor Babcock

The youngest child, Taylor Babcock, was born on June 2, 1997, in Spokane, WA, USA. Taylor celebrated her 26th birthday a few days back.

The 5-foot-4-inch girl played ice hockey when she was young. Eventually, she grew her interest in soccer and gave it a try.

Taylor is a huge fan of Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr. In fact, she wore number 4 her whole life, even when she played hockey.

Taylor played nine seasons with Michigan Rush in the Midwest Regional League Premier Division. She led her college team twice and won the title of most valuable player three times. Moreover, she became the Rookie of the Year in 2012.

Where Does Mike Babcock Live Now?

Mike Babcock lives in a lake-facing home near Montana. However, Babcock was born in Manitouwadge, Ontario, and grew up in Saskatoon.

The majority of his childhood went relocating around Northern Ontario, Manitoba, and Northwest Territories. His parents finally settled down in Saskatoon in 1975. He grew up with his three younger sisters, two of them are twins.

There he completed his elementary and high school education. Later, he enrolled at McGill University, where Mike studied from 1983 to 1987. Right after graduation, he thought of becoming a university professor.

Not even in dreams, he thought of being one of the highest-paid coaches in the NHL in the future. That was possible due to his hard work, which he learned from his mining engineer father. His housewife mother taught him to talk to people.

Where Is Mike Babcock Going?

Mike Babcock is expected to join the Columbus Blue Jackets as their new head coach. The position in the club is vacant after they fired Brad Larsen on April 15, 2023.

According to ESPN, Babcock likely will join the Columbus after June 30. On that day, his eight-year contract with his former NHL franchise would expire.

After parting ways with the Leafs, Mike joined the University of Saskatchewan with his position for the Men's Hockey Team on February 20, 2021.

After two seasons, he resigned from the team and announced his retirement. If the rumor about the Jackets hiring him as their new coach is true, that will continue his journey in NHL.
