Mariucci Arena bag policy permits clear bags not exceeding 12" x 6" x 12" inches inside the venue. Medical bags are allowed after a screening.

However, visitors are restricted from entering the arena with a backpack, luggage, briefcases, fanny packs, and other bags that don't comply with the bag policy.

The medical bags are approved only after a screening process by the gate supervisors. Guests can't take a bag inside until the supervisor tags a "proper medical bag".

Mariucci Arena Ice Size And Capacity

Mariucci Arena ice size will be larger than the standard NHL size of 200’ x 85' inches and likely be a hybrid closer to 200' x 92' inches.

Before the 2023 Mariucci Arena renovation, the venue had an Olympic-sized ice sheet of 200 feet by 100 feet, providing a free-wheeling style of play.

In October 2023, its old ice sheet was replaced with a size of modern NCAA rink. The ice replacement was part of a $14 million renovation.

Before the 2012-13 season, a makeover at the arena introduced new sound systems, center-hung LED scoreboards, and LED fascia boards.

The seating capacity of 3M Arena at Mariucci is 10,000. Previously, It could hold 9,700 people. After adding 18 luxury suites to the building in the 2001-02 season, the capacity was increased.

Initially, Mariucci Arena capacity was 9,305 for the first three seasons. Later, 395 additional seats were added between the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons.

The arena features a truly state-of-the-art facility, with the capability to have ice year-round at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.

Mariucci has been one of the top sites for NCAA Regional events. The West Regional in 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2009 was hosted at 3M.
