Keegan Kolesar parents are K. D. Williams and Corrinne Kolesar. Charles Peterson was his stepfather who passed away in 2020.

Charles played baseball games in 14 seasons of the minor league. He retired in 2006 and then served as a scouting agent for St Louis Cardinals of the MLB.

Peterson caught Covid-19 in 2020 and he perished due to its complications. He was only 46 years at the time of his demise. The athlete also served as a volunteer football coach.
