Timmy also served as the play-by-play voice and the director of broadcasting of the International Hockey League's Cleveland Lumberjacks.
Saunders is also known to have called for the Central Hockey League's Tulsa Oilers and the Muskegon Fury before his career with the Flyers.

He registered at least 100 penalty minutes each season and then played for the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League during the 2004-05 NHL lockout. He recorded 39 points (26 assists and 13 goals) in 268 games throughout his career with the Flyers.
Before commentating for the Flyers, Todd acted as an assistant coach for the Trenton Titans, the ECHL affiliate of the Flyers. He assumed the role on 9 November 2011 and served for two seasons until 2013.
