Filipino Hockey Players in the NHL are Jason Robertson, Matt Dumba, Nicholas Robertson, and Tim Stapleton. Jason plays for the Dallas Stars.

Matt Dumba was the first player of Filipino descent to play in the NHL. Dumba made his debut for the Minnesota Wild on October 5, 2013.

Jason Robertson is the first player in Dallas Stars history to record hat-tricks in consecutive games. His first hat-trick came against the Winnipeg Jets on March 4 2022 and the second one came against the Minnesota Wild two days later.

Jason is also the first player of Filipino descent to become an NHL All-Star. He also made the NHL Rookie Team in 2021 and was the runner-up for the Calder Memorial Trophy

Nicholas is another player of Filipino descent currently active in the NHL. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Just like his brother Jason, Nicholas also made a record for his team when he became the 3rd player in the Leafs' history to score a playoff goal before his 19th birthday in August 2020. 

Jason Robertson - Dallas Stars

Jason Robertson is an American hockey player of Filipino descent currently active in the NHL. He is nicknamed "Robo" by his teammates.

Jason was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second round of the 2017 NHL entry draft. The left winger made his debut for the franchise on 13 February 2020 and recorded his first assist.

Robertson is the first player in Dallas Star's history to score hat-tricks in consecutive games. He scored his first NHL hat-trick on March 4, 2022, against the Winnipeg Jets, in his 100th NHL game, and his second hat-trick 2 days later against the Minnesota Wilds.

He was drafted by the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL where he played for four seasons. Robo was traded to the Niagara IceDogs before the end of the 2018-19 season by the Frontenacs.

He finished his Ontario Hockey League career with 149 goals and 317 points in 252 games. His 100th goal in the OHL came on March 7, 2018. 

During his final season in the OHL, he scored a combined 48 goals and recorded 117 assists in 62 games winning the 2019 Eddie Memorial Powers Trophy and the CHL Top Scorer award.  

He joined the Dallas Stars for the 2019-20 season but he was cut from the roster. He spent 2019-20 in the Texas Stars, an AHL affiliate of Dallas.

In his one season in the AHL, Robbo recorded 25 goals and 22 assists, 47 points earned, and 28 penalty minutes in 60 regular-season games.

Jason became a regular on the Stars roster from the 2020-21 season. Dallas Stars Filipino player has played 210 regular season games for the franchise recording 104 goals, 130 assists, 234 points earned, and 58 penalty minutes. 

Matt Dumba - Arizona Coyotes

Mathew Dumba is a Canadian hockey player of Filipino descent. The defenseman is currently signed with the Arizona Coyotes in the NHL.

Dumba began his playing career with the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL. He joined the Rebels full-time in the 2010-11 season and earned the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as the most proficient rookie.

Matt has also won the 2019-20 King Clancy Memorial Trophy which was first awarded in 1987-88. It is given to the player who best demonstrates leadership traits on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his community.

Dumba was rated as one of the top prospects for the 2012 entry draft as a result of his efforts in the WHL. He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the first round as the seventh overall pick. 

He played every game except one for the Minnesota Wild in the 2015-16 season scoring 10 goals, 16 assists, 26 points, and 38 penalty minutes.

Dumba signed on with the Arizona Coyotes on August 7, 2023. He will be desperate to kickstart his career with the Coyotes on a positive note.

Nicholas Robertson - Toronto Maple Leafs

Nicholas Robertson is another prominent player in the list of Filipino NHL Players. He currently plays for the Maple Leafs as the left winger.

Born on 11 Sep 2001, Nicholas began his playing career in the AAA minors with the Toronto Red Wings of the Greater Toronto Hockey League.

He was drafted into the OHL in 2017 by the Peterborough Petes. Nico became the first player to score 50 goals in a season for the Petes since the 1992-93 season.

Robertson received the 2019-20 CHL Sportsman of the Year award. He was also selected by the Petes as a nominee for the Red Tilson Trophy.

Nicholas was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2019 and made his NHL debut in the qualifying rounds for the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs against the Colombus Blue Jackets.

His debut goal came before his 19th birthday and became the third player in the Leafs' history to achieve this feat alongside Jack Hamilton (1943) and Ted Kennedy (1944).

Tim Stapleton - Retired

Timothy Gabriel Stapleton is a former Filipino American hockey player who made his NHL debut playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs. 

Tim Stapleton is not related to Pat Stapleton or Mike Stapleton. Born and raised in the Chicago area, Timothy is half Filipino and half Irish. 

He has played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, and the Atlanta Thrashers in his NHL career. Stapleton was the player to score the last goal in the Atlanta Thrashers' history before they moved to Canada to become the Winnipeg Jets. 

He played for the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL for the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons before playing for the University of Minnesota Duluth for four seasons.

Stapleton played his first NHL career game on 26 February 2009 for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He scored his debut against the Ottawa Senators.

He was traded to the Atlanta Thrashers in 2009 and was assigned to their affiliate, the Chicago Wolves of the AHL where he played for a season before making his Thrashers debut.

Tim represented the United States in the 2011, 2013, and 2014 IIHF World Tournaments. Team USA won bronze at the 2013 IIHF tournament. 

After his contract with the Winnipeg Jets expired, the ice hockey center joined the Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League in 2012. 

Tim played for several European teams from 2012 to 2018. He played in the KHL, the National League in Switzerland, the Deutsche Eishockey Liga of Germany, and the Swiss League, a second-tier league in Switzerland. 

After bidding adieu to his playing career, Stapleton currently works as a co-host for the "Raw Knuckles Podcast" with Chris "Knuckles" Nilan.
