The analysts, Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski fill the gap when there's no play-by-play. They join Gannon and perform their task together.

Weir and Lipinski are former players, who were very successful in their careers. Both of them are inducted into the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

Figure Skating in Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympics

Many venues that were used for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 will be re-used for Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympics.

The Gangneung Ice Arena will be repeated for Gangwon 2024 Olympics. The Arena hosted figure skating during PyeongChang 2018. The Gangneung will welcome the figure skaters once more.

Though the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 are scheduled to take place from 19 January- 1 February 2024, specific dates are yet to be set for the figure skating competition.

Figure Skating at Gangwon 2024: Events and Format

The following five events will be contested in figure skating at Gangwon 2024:

  • Men's singles
  • Women's singles
  • Pairs
  • Ice Dance
  • Team Event

The team event was held as a mixed-gender, mixed-National Olympic Committee (NOC) competition at the first three Winter Youth Olympic Games. The skaters from different NOCs competed together across national lines by drawing into teams.

However, no mixed-NOC events will take place at Gangwon 2024. That implies the team event will change to being a competition between teams representing NOCs.
