Jake was drafted by the NHL franchise in 2017. He played two seasons each with Boston University and Texas Stars(AHL). In the current regular season, he secured a save percentage of .919.

New Jersey Devils booked Scott in the 2010 NHL Draft. In 2022, he signed a 2-year deal with the Stars and earned a save percentage of .915 in the regular season of 2022-23.

Emergency Goalie

Thomas Hodges, an emergency goalie entered the rink donning Dallas Stars gear and an Anaheim Ducks jersey in the 2021-22 season.

Hodges was called after both netminders of the Ducks got injured. He joined the game in the 3rd period of the match when the game was tied at 2 scores each.

Thomas saved two out of three shots in the play. Despite his effort, Ducks lost the match but he became popular for his outstanding performance. 

Even the opponent team Dallas Stars praised Hodges. In a Twitter post, the franchise congratulated the EBUG and penned that they wished they were not playing against him.

Jamie Benn

Jamie Benn was the sixth player to hold the captaincy of the Stars. He was named the leader of the team back on 19 September 2013.

Growing up, Benn played ice hockey with the Peninsula Eagles minor hockey association. He represented several teams in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League and British Columbia Hockey League.

Following his exceptional junior record, Jamie was drafted by Dallas Stars in 2007. In the initial years, he played for Kelowna Rockets and Texas Stars.

Benn debuted in the NHL for the Stars in the 2009-10 season. On 11 October 2009, he scored his first NHL goal in a game against Vancouver Canucks.

Jamie played all games as a left winger in the regular season of 2022-23. Moreover, he secured 33 goals, 45 assists, and 78 points.

Alternates

Miro Heiskanen is the current alternate captain. Esa Lindell, Tyler Seguin, and Joe Pavelski were alternate captains in previous seasons.

Miro is a Finnish defenseman who was selected by the Stars in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He played hockey as a part of the youth program till he was 14.

Heiskanen represented HIFK in Junior A league and Liiga. He made his debut in the NHL with the Stars in the 2018-19 season.

2022-23 is the fifth season of Miro with the Stars. He recently broke the record of most points in a season by a Stars defenseman that was formerly held by Sergei Zubov.

Likewise, Heiskanen made a tie with Reijo Ruotsalainen for the most points secured by a Finnish-born defenseman in an NHL season.

Dallas Stars coach Peter DeBoer was hired by the team in 2022. Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill holds the position since 2013.

Peter DeBoer

Peter DeBoer is a head coach and a former ice hockey right-shot center. He was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1988 Entry Draft of the NHL.

DeBoer represented Windsor Compuware Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League. He played with the team for four consecutive seasons.

Following that, Peter joined Milwaukee Admirals in the 1988-89 season. He retired after three seasons of representing the Admirals in the International Hockey League.

DeBoer then coached for Florida Panthers, New Jersey Devils, and San Jose Sharks. Prior to Stars, he was the head coach of the Vegas Golden Knights.

Jim Nill

Jim Nill serves as the current general manager of the Dallas Stars. He is a retired ice hockey right winger of 11 years.

Nill was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in 1978. He played his first NHL game in 1982 before he was traded to Vancouver Canucks.

Jim was also a part of the Canadian National Team that participated in the 1980 Winter Olympics. He retired as an active player after 1991.

After that, Nill joined Ottawa Senators as a scouting staff. He was then hired by Detroit Red Wings for front-office duties that involved directing scouts and making selections for NHL Draft Entry. 

Gradually, Jim was promoted to the general manager of Adirondack Red Wings. In 2013, he was hired by the Dallas Stars as the new general manager and he still holds the position.
