NHL Global Series Rink Size
The rink size for the NHL Global series has been roughly 200ft × 98ft for most of the time. While at the international arenas, the rink size differs from the standard NHL size.
A standard European ice hockey rink is 60m x 30m or 197ft x 98.5ft. European rinks are slightly shorter in length than the NHL rinks, however, they are considerably wider in breadth than the NHL rinks (85 ft).
The standard rink size is also the same in the Australian ice hockey arenas as well. However, some of the professional rinks are smaller in size 55m x 25m.
In 2018, Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg, Sweden hosted the Global Series events. It features an ice rink of 200ft × 98.5ft, which is standard international size.
The Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils faced off against each other in Sweden that year.
Another event for 2018 took place at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. Two regular season games between the Florida Panthers vs the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Jets vs the Florida Panthers were played in Helsinki.
Hartwell has a rink of 60m x 30m (197ft x 98 ft). The elliptical arena is now renamed Helsinki Halli.
The 2019 and 2022 NHL Global Series were conducted at O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic. O2 also comprises an ice rink of international standard.
Nokia Arena in Finland also hosted the part of 2022 Global Series. Two games between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche were played. The arena features a 60m x 28 m (200ft x 92ft) ice rink.
