Who Sponsors Avs Family Values?

Avs Family Values is sponsored by UCHealth. It was the 2023 Hashtag Sports Award Nominee for Best Branded Content or Series which was won by McEnroe vs. McEnroe.

The Avalanche Fan's values of the team as a family lined up perfectly with UCHealth's objective of keeping said family healthy resulting in the inception of Avs Family Values.

Avs Family Values was the result of a partnership with the 2022 Stanley Cup-winning captain Gabe Landeskog and featured his entire family.

Featuring Landeskog's off-ice side as a husband, dad, and neighbor rather than his on-ice side, the Avs Family Family Values highlighted his entire family and their relationship with each other.

The Avalanche Fans are proud to be part of a hockey family and that was the aspect used by UCHealth to encourage fans to pursue a healthier lifestyle. The targeted audience for this campaign was adults between 35 - 50 years old with children who preferred family time.

The campaign focused on scripted short videos released on social media platforms to deliver its message towards the end of the 2021/22 NHL season and incorporated them into the UCHealth ads for the Western Conference and the Stanley Cup Finals.

The campaign wanted to target organic engagement and shares rather than focus on paid advertising on social media platforms to reach a much larger audience.

This meant working out the timing and pushing the videos across the Colorado Avalanche, UCHealth, and Landeskog's social media accounts and that is exactly what they did.

The Campaign proved to be a successful one as it was nominated for the 5th Hashtag Sports Award held on June 14, 2023, for Best Branded Content or Series.

The winner in this category was McEnroe vs. McEnroe a show about John McEnroe playing tennis with virtual versions of himself from the past.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey Fights Cancer

The Avalanche Hockey Fights Cancer Event presented by UCHealth is scheduled for November 9 during the home game against Seattle Kraken.

Colorado joins in on the fight against Cancer this November, the designated Month for "Hockey Fights Cancer (HFC)" in the NHL. All 32 teams schedule games featuring lavender boards and HFC messaging in their Arenas with the players using lavender gear during warmups.

HFC will be celebrating 25 years of its fight against cancer this season. It was launched in December 1998 and has raised over $32 million since.

Tampa Bay Lightning's forward John Cullen was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 1997 leaving him unable to return for the 1996/97 season.

Cullen attempted to come back for the 1998/99 season but after fighting the disease for over a year he wasn't able to perform like before his diagnosis. Cullen announced his retirement on November 28, 1998.

After witnessing his battle with cancer, Timm Harmon of the Moffitt Cancer Center decided to partner with Tampa Bay to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. The NHL and the NHLPA also joined in on the effort which led to the birth of Hockey Fights cancer in Dec 1998.

The HFC is supported by NHL teams, Alumni, the NHL Officials Association, broadcast partners, marketing partners, hockey trainers and equipment managers, and Hockey Fans in North America.

Earlier this year in July, the NHL and the NHLPA announced the HFC's collaboration with V Foundation Cancer Research, which has funded over $300 million in research grants since it was founded in 1993.
